Kate’s 30th Birthday Girls Getaway

My friend Kate recently turned the (not so) big 30!! In celebration she drove up to celebrate, along with two other friends, by having a no kids, no husbands “Girls Getaway”!

We dined at The Melting Pot, I place that I had never been to before and was interested to try. The experience started with a cheese fondue of our choice, the birthday girl picked Spinach Artichoke Dip, it was really quite good. I thought granny smith apples as a dipper was a bit odd at first, but I really liked the cheesy dip with it, we were also served mixed vegetables, baguette, and tri-colored tortilla chips.

Then we moved onto a salad of our choice, loved this mixed salad with tomatoes, blue cheese, and pecans in a vinaigrette dressing.

Next up…this was a lot of food…was the main course two different broth based sauces with lobster, pork, chicken, shrimp, tuna, dumplings, mushrooms, broccoli, and red potatoes as dippers. We were also served a variety of sauces, eight I believe.

Tara, Kate, Danea, and Me – we had a fun-filled evening chatting the night away.

After allowing our food to settle a bit, we dived right into dessert. We had two selections – a dark chocolate, marshmallow, Oreo cookie famblé.

Oreo cookie were added after the flames died down.

Milk chocolate and crunchy peanut butter

These were both so good – strawberries, marshmallows, rice crispy treats, cheesecake, bananas, pound cake and brownies…all for the dunking!

A memorable and fun experience, it was a very nice place to hang out and enjoy the evening with girlfriends.
